We are proud to announce that Bond Digital Health’s founder and CEO Ian Bond has been nominated for a prestigious national award.
Ian is one of three finalists in the Innovation, Science & Technology award at the St David Awards 2019.
The St David Awards, held every March in honour of Wales’ patron saint, are the national awards of Wales and are nominated for by the public.
There are nine categories and finalists are selected by a committee comprised of independent senior figures in public life in Wales. Each category winner is chosen by the first minister, Mark Drakeford.
Ian said: “I feel humbled and excited to be nominated for this award. I’m especially proud of the fact that our company’s work is being recognised at a national level. There are some inspiring people nominated for these awards this year and I’m honoured to find myself among them.”
Ian was shortlisted by the awards committee for using his chronic life-threatening condition to build a successful business offering digital connectivity solutions for diagnostic devices.
After being diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD) a decade ago, Mr Bond was determined to manage his condition and began keeping a comprehensive diary of ‘wellness points’ to track his health and medication.
With business partner Dave Taylor he set up Bond Digital Health in Cardiff in 2016 to transform his idea into a system that would benefit patients, practitioners and life science organisations.
Now based at the Life Sciences Hub Wales in Cardiff Bay, Bond Digital Health employs eight people and is working on a range of exciting projects using its innovative app and cloud solutions.
The winners of the St David Awards 2019 will be announced at a ceremony on March 21. For more information about Ian and all the 2019 finalists, visit: https://beta.gov.wales/st-david-awards/2019-awards
